Mathematical Model to Predict Split Tensile Strength of Concretes in Crude Oil Contaminated Environments

چکیده
Few concrete components used for constructions within the Niger Delta region of Nigeria are contaminated with crude oil to varying ranges. An investigation into split tensile behaviour concretes when cured in 10% oil/water medium is carried out this work. In work, was as a fifth ingredient mix which replaced 5% 20% w/c. The four other were cement, sand, granite, and water. A designed ratio 1:2:4 w/c 0.5 utilized initial component design. Scheffe’s simplex theory five ratios {5,2} experimental This gave rise ten additional fifteen generated control purposes. These thirty subjected laboratory experiments determine 7 28 days strengths. results first strengths calibration model constant coefficients, while from second control. mathematical regression derived results, developed. two-tailed t-test significance, ascertained be adequate an R2 value 0.9616 0.9227. study revealed that presence can harmful it reduces strength concretes.

Progress of Carbonation in Chloride Contaminated Concretes
Concretes used in marine environment are generally under the cyclic effect of CO2 and chloride ions (Cl -). To date, the influence of carbonation on ingress of chloride ions in concretes has been widely studied; in comparison, study on the influence of Clon the progress of carbonation is limited. During the study, concretes were exposed to independent and combined mechanisms of carbonation and ...
